Please arrive 15 minutes before you scheduled start time.
There are a few things to go over before starting your room escape, so to keep all other games on time, please arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled start time. The games will start on time even if you are late.
No cell phones or recording devices are allowed in the room.
There will be secure lockers available to lock up all personal belongings before you enter the room. Cell phones will only be permitted for emergency purposes.
Do not intentionally break or damage anything in the rooms.
We understand accidents will happen. But if a Gamemaster feels that items in the room were intentionally damaged or broken, that group will be responsible for paying for those damages.
All items in the room should be left in the room.
Anything you find in the room should stay in the room. Try to keep found or used items in one location. Do not stick keys, locks or tools in your pockets so you don't accidentlly walk out with them.
Hidden Key Escapes reserves the right to deny any player access to a room if they are deemed to be intoxicated or unfit to participate in the room escape safely.
Such players will be asked to leave the building while the rest of the group completes the room escape. No refund will be given in this situation.
Hidden Key Escapes reserves the right to stop the game at any time if any rules are being broken or they feel the players safety is at risk.
With everything you find in the room it can be hard to stay organized, however, this is one of the most important things you can do. If you find a clue or code, put it somewhere so you know you haven't used it. Writing down all the codes you find is helpful too. Once you use the code or solve the clue, put it somewhere so you know it's not needed anymore. By doing this, you can always tell what you still need to figure out and what you don't.
Without good communication your team will never succeed. When a player finds an item, clue, or code, it should be shared with the group. Sometimes that item will match up with something else in the room that a different player has found. Discuss clues and riddles out loud so you get everybody's thoughts. The more brains working on a puzzle the faster you will solve it.
Skimming over items in the room and not inspecting everything or looking in everything can cause you to miss vital clues or codes. Take your time and make sure you find everything you're supposed to find.
Did we mention this one already? Well it's important enough to be mentioned again. Keep all teammates in the loop. This will not only help you escape faster, but it will make the game more enjoyable for everyone involved.
Most teams that escape will have had some form of help from the Gamemaster. If you're completely stuck on something, ask for a hint. It may be more rewarding to escape without receiving any hints, but most groups can't escape without help. Don't be stubborn, or you may miss out on puzzles you didn't have time for.
